Technical Paper Presentation

"Trustworthy authentication mechanism for video coding at an elementary stream level" by Jonathan Pfaff from our member institute Fraunhofer HHI. The Joint Video Experts Team JVET has recently developed a mechanism for trustworthy signing and authentication of coded video data at an elementary stream level.

FAMIUM Provenance and Authenticity

The FAMIUM Content Provenance and Authenticity solution provides robust authentication and provenance capabilities for both digital and physical assets, ensuring brand protection and content integrity. It supports secure signing of media content — including images, videos, and PDFs — using the C2PA standard, and integrates this standard into MPEG-DASH and HLS workflows for both video-on-demand and live streaming scenarios. Trustworthy authentication for compressed video data

Experience the next evolution in video security with the latest video coding standard H.266/Versatile Video Coding (VVC). Fraunhofer HHI has developed a method by which compressed video bitstreams can be authenticated using digital signatures – thus enabling trustworthy authentication at elementary stream level. It can therefore be applied in many important use cases that are not covered by existing technologies like C2PA. The authentication method is based on supplemental enhance information (SEI) messages specified in H.274/VSEI.
